Travel Health Program:  Pretravel Assessment, Counselling, and Immunizations

Travel Health Consultations: We will review your health history and travel plans with you and complete a risk assessment based upon these factors. You will receive prevention recommendations which may include CDC-recommended immunizations, personal prevention behaviors and medications to prevent illness or to self -treat in the event of illness while traveling. This service is only available to adults 19yrs and older. Pediatrics are not seen thru the Travel Health Program.

Payment Policy: With the exception of Johns Hopkins Employee EHP and BCBS plans, most companies do not cover travel related visits or vaccines. Payment by credit card, debit card, or flexible spending account card only is collected at time of service UNLESS there is an existing contract or similar arrangement with your sponsoring organization. Review fees before you receive immunizations. You will be referred back to your primary provider for any routine immunizations in need of updating.

Illness After You Travel: The Travel Health Program is happy to assist you and your primary care provider to arrange an outpatient REFERRAL visit with the Tropical Medicine Ambulatory Consultation Service, a clinical service of the Division of Infectious Diseases, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Please call 410.955.8931 for assistance. Check with your insurance provider to see if this service is covered.
