We're Hiring a CGH Communications Intern!

The Johns Hopkins Center for Global Health (CGH) seeks a dynamic, self-starter to assist in communications efforts for the Center. The summer communications intern will work with the Assistant Director and Program Coordinator to implement organizational communications strategies and to fulfill organizational goals. The summer intern will support virtual events such as the Center’s COVID-19 Seminar series “Strategies to Support the COVID-19 Response in LMICs” and a Women’s Leadership in Global Health Virtual Event Series, as well as general communications support for the Center.
Responsibilities
Assist in planning and promoting the CGH COVID-19 Seminar Series
Assist in planning and promoting the CGH Women’s Leadership Zoom series
Update CGH website as requested
Design event/program fliers, graphics and other communications material as needed
Update and maintain CGH’s social media presence, including daily monitoring, posting, and scheduling
Coordinate with University and external communications teams to promote CGH content
Collaborate with the team on new ideas, directions, and tools for marketing and communications
Qualifications
Must be a current Hopkins student; graduate student preferred
Possess excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
Have a firm grasp of social media tools and platforms including Twitter, Slack, etc.
Be a self-starter, good time management, creative, with ability to communicate regularly and in a professional manner
Have the ability to work well independently, and within a team
Previous internship or related experience in communications is a plus
Be willing to learn and accept constructive feedback
Logistics
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Estimated 10 hrs/week over 3 months.
Estimated hourly wage $18-$23/hr.
