How To Apply
The Global Health Field Research Award (GHFRA) is a student fellowship that supports research experience in the U.S. or abroad to address global health issues. Awardees will receive a $3,500 grant.
To apply, students must identify a project and a researcher willing to include them within one of their existing projects. Applicants planning to undertake a project involving human subjects research activities must have approval from the IRB. The research questions proposed should be the student’s original design. Applications that replicate currently-funded research questions will not be considered.
All potential applicants are instructed to read the GHFRA Announcement as it is the official guidance for the program.
Application Instructions: Students should review their self-initiated projects in detail. Applicants must complete the following:

- Completed Application/Commitment Form
- Project Narrative prepared in the format outlined in the Announcement
- Unofficial Academic Transcript

- Signed recommendations
* Primary faculty advisor
* Second recommendation
- Signed In-Country Host letter
Please do not submit hard copies.
Application Deadline: Applications are now closed. Signed recommendations and host letter are required on the due date. At the time of submission, students must be either currently enrolled for the required course (220.600.81 International Travel Preparation, Safety & Wellness) in 3rd term. This 1-credit online course must be completed and passed by any student applying to the GHFRA.
