May 2015 trip to Malawi has a three fold purpose: a.) networking, b.) medical knowledge, and c.) site assessment.  By visiting and shadowing / working at two faith based NGO hospitals in Malawi (Blantyre Adventist Hospital and Malamulo Adventist Hospital) my goal is to acquaint myself with the local hospital administrators and physician staff.  I am planning to join the physicians on daily rounds, begin to understand how diseases presents in the local-African context, and experience the cultural aspect of medical care and provision in a developing nation.  I believe the one-on-one interaction with local professionals and patients will enhance my long-term professional goals.
