Decade of Vaccine Economics Project

While various estimates exist on the cost of illness of vaccine-preventable diseases (VPD), there is no standard protocol for the collection of costing data to enable consistent comparisons across countries. In addition, data is often limited to public sector costs, often in higher level facilities, with less data on costs for medications, diagnostics, rehabilitation and transportation, and may not capture the impact on households' economic conditions. This primary data collection aims to fill such data gaps to better understand the value of vaccination.
