Rakai Health Sciences Program
The Rakai Health Sciences Program (RHSP) is a large and well established program focused on HIV-related research in south-central Uganda (www.rhsp.org). We have several implementation science and applied epidemiology studies focused on improving HIV care and prevention, NCDs, STIs, etc. which would benefit from student involvement. Some examples include (i) improving HIV care and prevention service delivery in a very high HIV prevalence fishing community using an mHealth-supported, motivational interviewing-informed community health worker approach; (ii) geospatial analyses of HIV service delivery and patient-oriented outcomes; and, (iii) a randomized trial on using CHWs to welcome incoming migrants and refer them to health services.
