South Africa - A personal carbon monoxide monitor for motivating smoking cessation in South Africa

The goal of this proposed research is to develop a mobile phone-based smoking cessation and relapse prevention program that integrates a personal carbon monoxide (CO) monitor in a single user friendly application that is tailored to the South Africa HIV and TB population.  We are currently using iCO monitors as a motivator to aid in smoking cessation in Baltimore and want to test this application in South Africa where we have ample experience with smoking cessation among people living with HIV.
