CGH funds 54 students to train in global health abroad

This year through the Global Health Established Field Placements, the Center for Global Health has paired 54 Johns Hopkins students with faculty and principle investigators at Johns Hopkins University and its affiliate organizations, Jhpiego and the Johns Hopkins Communications Center (CCP). During these placements, students will apply global health knowledge acquired from a variety of disciplines and classroom settings to research projects and health interventions.

Selected awardees began working as early as June in 26 different countries, classified as low-and middle-income by the World Bank

Participating students often engage in cross disciplinary work and hail primarily from the Bloomberg School of Public Health, as well as the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences, the Whiting School of Engineering and the School of Nursing. Eight undergraduate level and 46 graduate level students distinguished themselves to their PIs and faculty and were selected for this global health training and mentorship opportunity.
