Mali - Survey and data mapping for the national evaluation platform project
The Institute for International Programs (IIP) has received funding for a new program evaluation approach known as the National Evaluation Platform (NEP). The NEP project is a country-led process for supporting accountability efforts in maternal, newborn and child health and nutrition (MNCHN) by Governments and partners that will assess the strength and effectiveness of program at the national and sub-national levels. We aim to work with country institutes to build a data system that leads to sustainable country-level capacity to monitor progress towards MNCHN targets, and provide information that can improve programs. The NEP approach will be tested in Malawi, Mozambique, Mali and Tanzania. The planning phase of the project began in mid-2013. One key aspect of the preparatory work is to conduct a survey and data mapping exercise in each country. This information will be the basis of each country-level data system.
