Tanzania-Tanzania Capacity and Communication Project

The Tanzania Capacity and Communication Project (TCCP), currently in its second year, is a five-year, USAID- funded project led by the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Center for Communication Programs (CCP) in collaboration with Media for Development International and CARE Tanzania. TCCP seeks to 1) Execute evidence-based social and behavior change communication initiatives at scale, and 2) Effectively coordinate SBCC at the national, regional and district levels, and 3) Measurably transfer SBCC skills to Tanzanian individuals and institutions. TCCP's health areas of focus include HIV (prevention, treatment, PMTCT, male circumcision, HIV testing and counseling, orphans and vulnerable children, infection prevention and control), family planning and safe motherhood. The intern will work with the SBCC team to: 1. Conduct literature reviews for upcoming campaigns (e.g. phase II of the concurrent sexual partnerships HIV prevention campaign) 2. Assist in the development of new communication strategies for upcoming campaigns 3. Develop community outreach materials to support ongoing and upcoming campaigns (e.g. safe motherhood campaign, concurrent partnerships campaign, family planning campaign) 4. Provide communication technical assistance to project partners 5. Document and disseminate TCCP SBCC activities
